So here is my unsolicited and probably unpopular take. I bought one specifically with the intent of medically supporting people. I saw 2 options, the dedication Apollo or the galaxy. I took into account the number of beds, tiers of said beds, and the capabilities of the craft. I chose the galaxy as on average it is the better option as it allows me to treat more patients, and with the addition of the c8r rescue pieces and the semi recent medical Ursa, there is no patient out of reach of medical care. Plus, 2 additional t3 top of the 3 t3 beds on the galaxy. In total, 8 patients could receive treatment in beds simultaneously, making it the superior medical craft in terms of medical treatment. I refuse to comment definitively on its combat performance because it's not released yet, but I will say that I believe if each ship was caught out on its own by, say, cutlasses I believe one could stand and fight, and the other would likely retreat. That said, I intend to render humanitarian aid in places like pyro, so my requirements may differ from those who would prefer to Apolo. My choice is essentially in favor of a mobile hospital over just a mobile treatment center.

The best way to do this is to make a mod so you can create a capital shop but dock a smaller ship to it to go planet side.The smaller ship acts as a transfer point for the cap ship so you have access to cargo.

I dont buy intercepter at this point for simple reason I believe CIG themselves did not iron out what is an intercepter but name flies left and right evoking light gunned ship, an edge for speed and perhaps maximiming size qt range. Realistically if 3.23 patch stays the same, so called intercepter will be rebuked to npc mission gallore by the avg user. I personally see no interest in either racer or intercepter unless CIG develops great mechanic focus that pertains to meaning and usefulness of what is an intercepter. I am pretty sure in their mind its like you need to be 55 pilots doing absolutely nothing but accompany an inercepter so he can snif and ping an area.

It’s solid ground assault support ship. But will struggle taking an area on its own. If the area isn’t cleared out on the ground. It makes it an easy target for ballistas. Compared to the A2 (something it should be compared to NOT the M2) it’s going to struggle will in the atmosphere as well as clearing an area on its own compared to a single bomb drop from the A2. This is a ship that’s going to be strong reinforcing a ground location but not taking one like an A2.

Star Citizen needs some serious work on ground units for this ship to matter. As it is now, that thing is going to get blown out of the air without fighter superiority. You'd be better off just having everyone in their own fighter, fight to the objective, and hop out. Just getting an A2/M2/C2 to Jump Town is a pain, then when you do...ships gets blown up on the ground. It would need to be able to transport an amazing ground vehicle to matter, a much upgraded Ballista, etc. Also, it won't be in for a long time. WIth that said, the base Ironclad looks like it'll be a decent cargo ship. That one is worth a look. The Ironclad Assault? Meh, no need. You won't be defending yourself with it's turrets, you won't be repairing a vehicle that easily got destroyed, and you'll be able to move less cargo.

Thank you for the video. My only concern is that it's a combat-focused ship made by Drake. It might be called the Ironclad and yes, it's got formidable weaponry but do you really want to entrust a big landing operation with 30ish players and tanks to the survivability of a Drake ship? They aren't exactly known for being durable. I think it would be great for running cargo through rough and tumble areas but a full-scale military pvp operation? I'm not sure I'd want to do that in this ship, especially when permadeath arrives. I think having a lot of fighter support and AA support too once on the ground will be essential. I sure wouldn't want to do any hot drops in this thing.

This won't be a fortress, it's a ship like all the other ships. It will need air superiority to win.

Rather than constantly working on new ships, they should work on the older ones people paid for. They got no excuse for not making the IDris flyable as it has been flown by AI for years.

CIG is working on 7 unannounced ships but not the 30 in backlog. Typical CIG!

those players that still think the concept model of the carrack was better can all get 30k ed. I think the carrack is a beautiful ship. I love the interior and I don't know how they managed to fit 5 decks into a sub capital ship but they did. It's use right now is pointless and it will be even more so with the 3.24 update because you can't open the cargo modules. I really hope the carrack gets its modularity ASAP.

Cutty is tuned pretty well in MM, actually one of the most agile ship of her size, a lot better than ships like C1 or freelancer. Also I dunno it's a bug or something, losing a main engine is less likely to put it into a death spiral than it used to be, once I even flew at full speed with only the right engine without too much problem. Absolutely love it.

I have several ships but their is something about the Cutless that I love. It's a easy ship to fly and it can do anything a solo pilot would want.

I use the Cutlass Red a lot.

I generally prefer Connie size ships so the small medium size ships I e the freelancer/spirit/Cutlass debate has never really interested me although I may end up having to downsize due to engineering. Which is the sturdiest of the bunch?

My first starter was a Cutlass Black and I still have a Cutlass Black. It is the first multicrew ship most people own. And usually it is the most flexible ship most people own. It has drop seats and room for verhicles so you can use it as a drop ship. A host for mining vehicles. Just about every job you can think of you can at least attempt in a Black. But it pays for that by being a little fragile. And not as good at some things as other ships. If you want to take freight seriously then a C1 or freelancer is clearly better. But if you want to do a little of everything its really hard to beat a Black.

Not all capital ships will be scary. People will fly towards my BMM, not away from it.

I really don't know why people are talking 4.0. It's at least a year away and we have 3.24 first, that patch will be the new 3.18. I'm actually dredding 4.0, if it doesn't deliver CIG may well be finished.
